Three Weeks

This baby girl is 3 weeks old today!

She had another dr appointment yesterday and weighed in at 8 lbs.  The dr was pleased with that, so we won't have another appointment until she is 2 months old.  Hooray!

Time for a Check Up

EC had her 1 week check up today.  Overall, she's doing really well.  The dr is a little concerned about her lack of weight gain.  She only weighed 7 lbs 8 oz at one week old.  They also took an x-ray to make sure everything is still good with her cyst.

**Update** 5/23/2014: At two weeks old, Ellis weighed 7 lbs 11 oz.  At this point, she should be back at her birth weight.  We are going to keep with our current routine for another week, but if she hasn't gained some significant weight, we will have to supplement with formula.  Boo!  But we want her to be healthy and grow, so we will do whatever it takes.  In positive news, the x-ray came back clear.  So all is well with our baby girl's lungs.  Praise the Lord!  This is such an answered prayer!

Headed Home

A little over 24 hours after we had Ellis, we took her home from the hospital.  It's hard to get good sleep in the hospital, but it's also nice to be taken care of.

Sisters

Emme Clare is in love with her baby sister and takes the role of big sister very seriously.

When we told EC that it was time to leave the hospital, she was not on board.  She said- but Ellis needs me!  I can't wait to see the relationship that develops between these two.

Welcome to the World

Welcome to the world, baby girl!

Here We Go

Ready or not!

Tomorrow is the BIG day!  Ellis will be making her debut.  Jeremy and I are headed to the hospital at 5am, so I can be induced.  I have a lot of mixed feelings about induction and choosing my baby's birthday, but after weighing all our options, it seems like the best decision for us.

The plan is to go in at 5am and get settled.  By settled I mean, the IV started and hooked up to all those monitors and vital signs, etc.  The dr plans to break my water around 6:30 and hopefully, that will be enough to get labor started and I'll have Ellis at some point that day.  If I haven't progressed much within 2 hours or so, they will start Pitocin.  I have high hopes, since I'm already dilated to a 4 and 75% effaced.  Either way, we are so excited to meet our baby girl!

Aunt Bootie is the winner!!!!
