PJs

She learned how to take her pjs off. And she's really proud of herself. We might be in trouble ...

FaceTime

Or trying to FaceTime. It's a little hard with an active almost-two-year-old.

Ooopsie!

Got a tad bit behind on the ol' blog.  But I'm mostly caught back up, so keep scrolling down for LOTS of updates and mostly photos of EC.

Vowing to do better the rest of March.

A Strongly Worded Letter to Daylight Savings

Dear Daylight Savings-

Just about the time we have a sleep routine down and I'm getting a solid 8 hours a night, you come along and ruin it.  I get that you're doing us a favor with providing more light in the evenings, but it should be noted that it comes at a cost.  And that cost is precious sleep.

I'm exhausted!  Sunday went pretty well with your whole time change thing, but the rest of the week has been completely awful.  My work, my appearance, my attitude- they are all suffering.

You prey on innocent children, who are confused about the daylight and the loss of an hour of sleep and a new routine.  And parents of those innocent children bear the brunt of this  disaster.  I'm speaking out for all moms when I say we are more than a little disappointed (and sleep deprived).

I don't even know how you can properly address this complaint.  My only recourse is to live in fear until the dreaded "fall back."

I'll try to make the most of the situation, Daylight Savings.  I'll soak up the extra sun in the evenings and buy extra dark out fabric, so my kid will thinks it's dark outside at her 8:00pm bedtime, even though it's bright as noon.

You keep doing your thing and robbing parents of sleep.

Till next year,

Exhausted Parent

Momma

The church gives us a little summary of what EC learned about in class- an angel told Mary she was going to have a baby. We get in our car and I ask EC about what she learned.

Me: did you learn about baby Jesus?
EC: yes
Me: what was baby Jesus' Mom's name?
EC: momma

Little Photog

These ducks have been visiting our yard each evening for a few days. EC loves watching them.  "Hold it, touch it, hugs."  I tell her we have to be careful with the ducks because we don't want to scare them.  She's taking a picture of them with her phone.  Don't ask about the shoe . . .

Under the Weather

It's a bummer to get back from a wonderful family vacation and get sick!  But super thankful, she wasn't sick on the trip!

Snow Mobiling

EC enjoyed a day at ski school.  No skiing but she did get to ride the gondola and she LOVED it.  I think she calls it a bus.  Oh well!  The report back from school said she was curious, quiet, and content.  Please note sharing was not circled.  Hmm.

Airplanes and Snow

We made it to Steamboat Springs with no major issues and only a slight flight delay.  EC did good- probably a B- the flight was right in the middle of her naptime.  She's so-so on the snow.  Hoping she warms up to it, no pun intended.

Bags Packed

Bags are packed and she's ready to go!  EC loved playing with her suitcase and my lunchbox. She told us bye a million times, as we got everything ready to go for the trip.

Go Green & Gold! (& Pink!)

Insisted on wearing the pink, sparkle shoes!  Who am I to tell her no?!?!  I think we are entering the dreaded fashion war- this is a battle I let her win, but I'm still on top in the war. Right?

rockin' the pink

Hands free- who needs blue tooth?!?!

Date Night

Red Letter Day- mark your calendars!  Jeremy and I saw a movie together IN the theater.  It's been about two years!  The last time we saw a movie together, I was pregnant with EC.  It hasn't really been intentional- just a lack of time and good movies?  Or just not a priority.

But it was good, it was fun.  Better than I expected.  I can say fairly confidently that I don't think we will wait another two years before our next one.  I hope.
