Dear Daylight Savings-
Just about the time we have a sleep routine down and I'm getting a solid 8 hours a night, you come along and ruin it. I get that you're doing us a favor with providing more light in the evenings, but it should be noted that it comes at a cost. And that cost is precious sleep.
I'm exhausted! Sunday went pretty well with your whole time change thing, but the rest of the week has been completely awful. My work, my appearance, my attitude- they are all suffering.
You prey on innocent children, who are confused about the daylight and the loss of an hour of sleep and a new routine. And parents of those innocent children bear the brunt of this disaster. I'm speaking out for all moms when I say we are more than a little disappointed (and sleep deprived).
I don't even know how you can properly address this complaint. My only recourse is to live in fear until the dreaded "fall back."
I'll try to make the most of the situation, Daylight Savings. I'll soak up the extra sun in the evenings and buy extra dark out fabric, so my kid will thinks it's dark outside at her 8:00pm bedtime, even though it's bright as noon.
You keep doing your thing and robbing parents of sleep.
Till next year,
Exhausted Parent
